en un ritual de lenguas • degustan tierra

entre sus labios y escupen • invocando la

nostalgia alucinante del sol de mediodía

H. Paz

With JARDINEROS (Gardeners), Cuban multi-instrumentalist and improvisor Hery Paz summons two kindred spirits from his diaspora, Román Díaz (percussion/voice) and Francisco Mela (drums) to search beyond the forms and codes of traditional Cuban musical structures. The trio reimagines syncretic, rhythmic and poetic materials transforming them into personal improvisational and instrumental practice. Far from ritualism or mysticism, from cliches and folkloric preservation, this phonogram is a poetic declaration to freedom, a landscaping of new grounds for uncompromising dialogs among Cuban Improvisers.
