Eddie Prévost, a preeminent musician in the UK improvised music scene and founding member of legendary group AMM, might be equally renowned for his generous, decades-long mentorship as he is his musical accomplishment. Both talent and Prévost’s mentorship are on display in this second part of a two-part recording session, The Secret Handshake with Danger Volume Two. The recording features five musicians (Binker Golding on Saxophones, Henry Kaiser on Guitar, N.O. Moore on Guitar, Olie Brice on Double Bass and Eddie Prévost on Drums) improvising off a lifetime of collaboration. The volume is a fully spontaneous composition, recorded and mixed in a single day in a Westpoint London studio, hours before the country’s official national lockdown. The tracks are experimental and avant-garde with lush jazz and exhilarating rhythms. This album will be available as a CD and for download in November of this year.

Really adore the soft textures I'm listening to this morning. Even when the music gets "crowded," it never really is, with ample space for all instruments to assert themselves, then fall gracefully back into warm swirl. Gorgeous ensemble playing and highly recommended if you're looking for mystery on the softer side. ps0m
